A one-of-a-kind custom Nintendo 3DS prototype featuring a custom painted shell, a custom painted glass top screen lens, brand new top and bottom screens, blue glow-in-the-dark details, and a matching custom stylus.

This system is a prototype build and was my first time creating a custom painted top screen lens and custom shell paint job, so it is being listed with full transparency. It is fully functional, region free, fully cleaned, tested, and ready to enjoy.

The shell has been custom painted to create a subtle blue pearlescent shimmer effect that appears when the light hits it or when viewed from certain angles. A thin protective coating was applied to help protect the finish without building up too much texture. The coating can withstand light scratches, but this system should still be handled with care and should not be treated roughly or carelessly.

The custom glass top screen lens has a thin blue shimmer base layer, then was painted over with light blue glow-in-the-dark paint. Since this is a prototype lens, the inner edges around the visible screen area are not as clean as I would like, and the airbrushed glow paint distribution is not perfectly even. The lens surface is covered, but the finish has a handmade prototype look.

Both the top and bottom screens are brand new, giving the system a clean, fresh display experience.

The buttons, shoulder buttons, D-pad, and sliders are transparent with blue glitter pieces inside. They glow blue in the dark and have a blue pearlescent shimmer finish with a protective coating. The silver port area on the bottom shell has also been painted with light blue glow-in-the-dark paint, then finished with blue pearlescent shimmer and protective coating.

The thumbstick is custom painted light blue with blue pearlescent shimmer and protective coating. It also has a subtle, less pronounced blue glow-in-the-dark effect. The custom rubber accents glow blue in the dark. The matching stylus is transparent with glitter pieces inside, glows blue in the dark, and has a blue shimmer finish.

The rim along the top screen is finished in light blue with blue pearlescent shimmer and protective coating, but it does not glow.

This is a special prototype piece for someone who appreciates experimental custom work, handmade details, and one-of-a-kind builds.

Prototype disclosure

Please note that this is a prototype custom build and is being sold as such.

This was my first time creating both a custom painted top screen lens and a custom painted shell finish. Because of that, there are some handmade imperfections:

• The inner painted edges around the visible screen area of the top lens are not as clean as I would like
• The airbrushed glow paint on the glass top lens is not distributed perfectly evenly
• The shell coating was intentionally kept thin to avoid creating unwanted texture
• The shell can withstand light scratches, but should still be handled carefully
• This system should not be handled aggressively or carelessly

These details are part of the prototype nature of the build. Please review all photos carefully, as they show the exact system you will receive.

Glow details

The blue glow effect charges in sunlight and becomes brighter after UV exposure. Glow intensity will vary depending on how long the system is charged and the lighting conditions around it. The glow is most visible in darker rooms after a strong sunlight or UV charge.

Screens and condition

This system has brand new top and bottom screens installed. The custom top screen lens is glass and has been painted with a blue shimmer base and light blue glow-in-the-dark finish.

The screens themselves are new and working properly. The painted glass lens is a prototype custom piece, so please review the prototype disclosure and photos carefully.
